JOSY THOMAS

Josy Thomas (Onondaga Nation, Wolf Clan, Faithkeeper) operates at the vanguard of global contemporary sculpture. Holding an MA in Fine Arts from OCAD University, his practice breaks through the colonial glass ceilings of ethnographic categorization.

His monumental stonework and architectural interventions confront the visceral friction between ancestral sovereignty and Western institutional frameworks.

By executing a profound materialism where the stone is not broken but conversed with, Thomas documents the deep psychological toll of the 21st-century identity crisis. His masterworks are held in prestigious international permanent public collections—including the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (Washington, D.C.) and the Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto)—and anchor the private contemporary collections of the world's most discerning art patrons.
